ETAK International needed a website that reflected their position in the food distribution industry. Their existing website was so old that the priority was to replace that with a site that staff would feel proud to direct customers to. Functionality would be minimal to start off with, but ETAK International wanted a platform that was extendable so that they could build on full customer login and order facilities as well as applications that could help their sales team generate sales materials.
ETAK International jumped on to our BigFish solution as they wanted a cost-efficient and rapid development process for the initial launch of the new site. We organised their content and developed a site map, and then applied a design that took advantage of the great images of food products at their disposal. In early preparation for their eventual goal of providing an online ordering platform, we created custom layouts for product categories and a product page itself that displayed all the important information that a wholesale buyer requires. The site is multi-lingual with both Traditional and Simplified Chinese in addition to English, and we added the Chinese content on their behalf.
We built out an advanced product database with intuitive forms, which has become an important asset in the companies data management. We also built out staff-only product report areas that can generate clean product lists based on multiple criteria and display fields, not to mention a great looking printable product page.
