The Asia Global Institute had an existing website that had been developed in 2013 and was becoming very long in the tooth. It contained a multitude of content, over 800 articles and also a full events system. The brief provided to us was to build an exciting new website that would present their events and forth-coming content in a much more interactive and engaging format. They required that all the existing content should be carried over to the new website, but most of it to form an archive section. Most important to the team from the Institute was that the website CMS was easy to work with.
After carefully defining the content types for the website which included news, events, expert profiles and archived news, we were able to plan out an effective site structure. We developed bespoke layouts for each content type as well as easy-to-use backend systems to ensure maintenance was as simple as possible. Design wise we kept the website very clean and simple and added dynamism through the use of large bold fonts and the generous application of the institutes corporate red.
We included great cross-linking between the content types, allowing the same database of experts to be used for news authorship, speakers at events, and also for the various boards. All content can be imported and exported through CSV so the Institute can remain confident that the site will be easy to evolve as changes to their output develops over the next few years.
