The requirements for the website revamp included a completely new look and improved organisation of their content so that customers could locate details of their services more easily. In particular, 4 main services that were being under-utilised needed better placement, and they needed to be able to edit and update these services easily. Finally, Sky Blue Bikes also wanted to better promote their e-commerce system, and sell more online.
We took advantage of some iconic images of staff from Sky Blue Bikes cycling in the Alps, combined with professional images of the shop, and used these as full-screen backgrounds. This created an immediate impression and set the stage for the main calls to action and services promotion. The website is built on a page-builder system that staff from Sky Blue Bikes have full access to, so this gives them full control to edit the details on each page as well as the images.
We recommended that Sky Blue bikes set up a blog to use as a marketing tool, and we duly built one on a system that enabled front-end editing, automatic image resizing, and maximises social media sharing/SEO settings. The e-commerce system is based on another in-house platform outside of our control, but we made some styling adjustments to try and reduce the inconsistencies when jumping into the online shop.
